I was born in the Old City of Jerusalem to a British mother and an Israeli father, and English and Hebrew have been part of my life from day one. Moving between languages became a profession while I was at university, where I began translating student papers and theses. Over time, my work expanded to children’s books, plays, scripts, short stories, novels and non-fiction, with a growing focus on translation from Hebrew into English.

Alongside translation, I began writing for magazines and developing online content at a time when online content was still a new concept. My work has since grown to encompass content strategy, editorial work and publishing, bringing together my interest in language with the pleasure of understanding unfamiliar subjects, shaping ideas and collaborating with people from different disciplines.

I completed a BA in Philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2003 and an MPhil in Philosophy at Tel Aviv University in 2009. Philosophy continues to inform how I work: questioning assumptions, considering different perspectives, using an analytical approach and finding the language to express ideas clearly.

In 2015, I moved from Tel Aviv to Berlin with my husband and children. English and Hebrew are my native languages; I also studied French to an advanced level at school and university, and have been continually learning German since moving to Berlin, reaching a B2 level.
